Has anybody replaced the cone clutch and / or gear selector on a 290 Duo Prop DP-D1. The engagement in forward has become progressively smoother over the last year, but now sometimes lags when selected.
I am quite capable of removing leg etc. and most things mechanical.
Is there a workshop manual that covers the gearbox?

I'm fairly positive that the cable adjustment is not at fault because the symptoms started last year, and this winter both control cables were replaced because they were getting stiff to operate, after all they were 10 yrs old. All bellows and oil were replaced at same time and oil level left half way up dip stick.

I have been told that it could be wear on the gear selector, but without removing the drive there is no way of telling. The boat has spent the last 5 yrs on the Thames leading a hard life in terms of frequent inning and outing of gear.

As I do all the maintenance (so far) on the boat, I just wondered if anyone has "had a go" and succeeded.
