Evening all,

does anyone know what the charge voltage is likely to be on a 1996 vintage VP2030B alternator. Yes I know I can measure it with a voltmeter but won't be down to the boat for a couple of weeks. I'm considering improving on the standard battery charging system with Smart Gauge and Smart Bank units. I realise that theres been a fair bit of comment on the Smart Gauge unit over the years but would be interested to hear from anyone that uses both together.

Not sure what sort of answer you are expecting

Its a 12 volt system

Its a 14 volt 60 amp alternator

I'm interested in that answer as well.

Also remember Volvo only quote a nominal 14 volt, it could be upto 14.4 volt depending on the alternator regulator.

Alternators used to be / are still rated in watts @14 volt, so 840 watt @ 14 volt would equal 14 volt @ 60 amp.

I'm expecting your sort of answer, thank you very much, and to you Brian

Now just need to hear from anyone with experience of the Smart Guage/Smart Bank combo.

Thanks all in expectation..
