We have a valiant 2003 that has a little problem.

It loses diesel from the two hoses that link the injectors together. Not seriously but enough to leave a film over the engine cover and a smell in the air.

So I thought I'd replace them.

£86???? I assume that that's a pair, but still a bit steep.

The bolts that connect them are hollow to allow diesel to flow.

Question: Does anyone know if the end fittings are proprietary or can I get a local hose maker to make some reverse engineered versions?

Also anyone replaced these hoses??
A source for suitable washers?
What are suitable washers?

Or should I wait until it all goes TU?

I think it's per pipe, not a pair. If it's part number 840317, Volspec have them at £60 each, and they're usually OK on price. The fittings are standard, if you go to a Pirtek branch, they'll make up new pipes for you, perhaps at a lower price.

Thank you for that insight.

Off to Pirtek or similar in the morning

Why I love most of this place
Well, I went off and bought a bit of high pressure hose. Slapped them on.
To do that I had to stop the diesel feeding back from the low pressure return.
Pleasantly surprised at that I managed to do it.

Now the question of the diesel perfumed hazy smoke that follows us.

Are you still in the water? If so perhaps it is time for an "Italian Tune", this can be done on the pontoon, start the engine (I prefer to warm it up for a few mins others think this is the work of the devil) engage forward gear and run her for a few mins then run the engine at full throttle or about 30 mins, do whatever you do to cool down and stop.
