I want a new thermostat for the Volvo 2003B - the listed price is £43.00 plus etc.
The gasket is a bargain at £1,50
This is for an engine with a heat exchanger

Anyone got a thermostat equivalent list?

Some temperatures here as a starter, http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f54/volvo-penta-2001-operating-temperature-136507.html

Measure the dia of the original to get an idea of the size. It will probably be a std auto one and then go to a friendly factors and ask for one in the temp range

According to the tech spec in the owners manual the thermostat for an indirectly cooled 2003 begins to open at 74 C and is fully open at 87 C.
Thats quite a bit lower than modern automotive ones ITYWF

I was suggesting asking for one "in the temp range" If not available then thats life. However, the old fashioned factor I have known since I was 16 would get his dog eared cross refs out and I bet would find one.
:)

Ah Volvo do like the parts pricing.. I had a 2003 and had some leaks from the square section o-rings were quoted at 14 euro each .... Got a piece of rubber hose and a sharp knife and made myself 40 odd cost 1 euro... I feel for you
