Belated thanks for advice regarding poor starting, reground valves new springs now starts on first turn.
Now have problem stoping it when it has run for a couple of hours especially. can you adjsut the stop pull and how?

Yes you can adjust the stop wire, it is a bowden cable after all. It should terminate in an adjustment screw like that on a bicycle brake and the inner wire goes into a screw terminal. Before you start adjusting it though, try operating the kil lever manually (with a stick if it's too close to moving parts).

I replaced my stop cable last week when the handle came off the old one. It's a doddle to adjust the stop lever which is shown on the picture below, just pull the wire through until it is the correct length and tighten the nut.
