A new engine to me... the engine runs fine... so far so good! when the ignition is on and the engine stopped the warning lights all glow and there is a breif beep as the panel powers up. When shutting down the engine stops and the lamps (oil, alt ect) come on but no sounder. The sounder does operate when the test button is depressed... My concern is that the alarms dont sound as is the case with my old yanmar when the engine parameters go into the alarm condition when the engine is idle. Is there a link in the electrics betwwen the alt and the control panel that means the alarm sounder only live when the engine is running .... or is mine kanckered?

so if the engine parameters go into the alarm condition when the engine is running the alarms will sound?

I am getting paranoid... watching the panel more than enjoying the sail!

I can't remember about the 2002 I used to have but with my current 2030 the alarm sounds for several seconds after stopping the engine when it is not fully warmed up, but barely a squeak when the engine is hot. I have assumed it is something to do with the viscosity of the oil and the pressure sensor.
No, you're not paranoid; it's the skipper's job to worry about everything.

[/ QUOTE ]That's the idea!

Actually, I don't think that the electrical diagram in the manual is at all clear. Maybe you'll think otherwise. But, regardless, your instrument panel is working as it should.
