VOLOS to ATHENS AIRPORT

need advice on the best way to do it on price ,time. at the end this month after 2 week charter we have flight athens to valencia. flight from skiathos gets in to late so need ferry then road. thanks in advance for any help that can ..

Based on 2011 experience. Weekdays (less frequent weekends).

Buses from Volos to bus station near Omonia Sq in Athens run from 0500 until about 2100. They depart every 2:00hrs reducing to every 1hr30 at peak times. Bus station is in west part of Volos. Journey is about 4hr45, but a third of the buses are expresses, taking 4hr15

KTEL long distance buses book by seat number. If the next one is full, you may have to wait for the next. Better, book the day before.

From the arrival station ask locally best way to reach airport; I haven't done this. There is probably a direct express bus service, taking about an hour.

We're probably talking €34 or so plus €3.50 but that's an estimate based on distance and inflation.
