Use Fixed Cellular Terminal on the boat and use infra-red (I am old fashioned /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) to handheld phone elsewhere - really great for emails too.

A thing I find very useful is that paying bills at home was always a hassle if one went away for more than a few weeks but by setting up all our repeating bills at home (power, phone, etc) for on line payment over the internet solved that - just link to the service provider's internet site to see how much my account is and then link to internet banking to pay it.

You can buy the Vodafone GPRS card on PAYG from Dabs.com for £50 including £20 credit.

I presume for that price it was a 3G card? These look great, but you can only pick up the 3G signal in large cities, otherwise it reverts to GPRS.

You need to set up the phone as a bluetooth modem on your computer. There should have been a cd with software on it that came with your phone. If not, have a look on the phone manufacturers website and you should be able to find instructions and downloads there

I’ve got one too it’s a 3G/ GRRS Vodafone data card it cost £150 6 months ago the tariff I selected was pay £25/month and you can down load up to 75mb /month.
3G coverage is a bit limited at the moment but have found over the last few months its getting better.

Currently sitting between red piles 5 & 6 in Yarmouth Harbor!!!
