A friend is about to take a look at a Viudes 56 displacement motor yacht.
This particular one is a 1974 vintage and a recent 'outside of hull' survey talks about the need for partial re-fastening of the wooden hull in places, replacement of the bow thruster (seized & blades missing), unsiezing of the trim tabs as well as the need to fix the soft wood at the stern tubes, replace the anodes, pull the stainless (A2 grade) bolts holding the 'A' brackets and needing a damn good re-paint and antifoul.
Should he go and look (it is currently ashore) or walk/run away?
And... The props and rudders hang below the hull at the stern. I assume that it will not be able to dry out in mud without damage?
Many thanks in advance
