Visitors to the \"Med\"way.

Couple of weeks ago spotted the unusual sight of 5 narrow boats passing outside my lounge window heading in formation up river .
After a (very wet ) jaunt, ditch crawling up to Golden Green this weekend, had the pleasure of talking to the skippers of a couple of the boats while waiting to return back down river through the lock at Allington.Turned out they had started out from Corby and had ventured out into the estuary after travelling down via the canal system into the Thames.Having been up to Tonbridge they were waiting for a weather window for the return back into the Thames.
We had to depart the freshwater in a bit of a hurry on early Sunday AM,when the river level rose rather fast during the night by around 2 feet and as our air draft is marginal at the best of times, visions of spending a rainy week with the wife in a flooded field the wrong side of a low bridge did nor appeal.
Ps.Halfway back, when the rain really started to come down,my wiper motor decided after 30 years it was time to call it a day. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Seeing you comment on your wiper motor giving out. Made me wonder, do they still make the Kent Clearview? What an excellent bit of kit that is in real heavy weather.

Just for Boatone, all the narrowboats were proudly displaying their "Gold" licence stickers.
