visitor buoys or anchorage in Poole Harbour

Turn left after you enter the harbour - anchor in South Deep behind Brownsea Island - good holding in mud, stunning views, plenty of peace and quiet. What out for the shallow patch where you turn left - you'd probably touch the putty at low water but it is soft mud.

whist there are some visitor buoys they all suffer from being next to the main channel and therefore you will 'rock' relatively speaking from comercials, fishers et al...........

if you don't want to go into town then south deep is available for access all tide, or the hole south west of brownsea accessable via blood alley from the SE above about 1.3m tide for you ie difficult between 1530 and 1930h Sat - exit from 0800h Sun morning no problem. You will find the deeper water in a pool around 50/100yds off the withies using your sounder.
then there is always the area off the NW of Brownsea by pottery pier.
finally you will be able to get into the lagoon between Long Island, Arne and Round Island by following the channel around the same times indicated for Blood Alley.
Hope this helps

ps may well have the BBQ going in one of these spots so if you see us pop over!

Pottery Pier at the far end of Brownsea is a popular anchorage, can get quite busy at peak times though. Similarly, just outside the harbour is Studland, also a very popular destination. We will be there this weekend on the Ovni Owners' Club rally, let's hope that the weather holds!
