Visiting the dark side!

As of last night (subject to medical etc) I have been appointed as one of the Training Officers for Cambridge University Royal Naval Unit. So over the coming months I will be going to sea from time to time under the white ensign in HMS Raider based in Ipswich.

I am really looking forward to it - going to sea AND being paid for it! Seems a bit different to the last time I worked for HMs Grey Funnel Line!

PS I will still be sailing too!!

D3B and I followed Raider up the Orwell to Ipswich at night, and then had a good look at her in the lock.
looks like a lot of fun with 9" diameter exhausts.

You, like me, hadn't the first effin clue wot it was, until we arrived in the lock.
All we knew was that the pair of us were pushing the upper speed limit of the Orwell.

And it was Raider....
