Leaving Brighton - another Premier and fancied a more ‘genteel’ sea side type stop off before continuing around Selsey and up into the Solent proper! 😳
Tried ringing the harbour master but as yet no response. Draw 1.5 and 11m length so need to stay afloat. The town quay pier pontoon arrangement looks favourable. Will there be room and will calling up on VHF suffice?

i called in last year. Not cheap but good for a visit. The tide does rush in and out but it wasn’t too terrifying. I managed to depart during the flood to head east towards Brighton. Despite only having a 9hp engine I managed to get out at HW-3. Recommended departure is from HW-2 but if you are shallow draft -3 can work.

There is a restaurant right by the harbour office that serves roast dinners throughout the week. It was excellent one year ago when I tried it.

Very simple to enter and exit you just need to watch out for depth at the bar. When coming from Brighton make sure you dont cut the corner at the entrance there is a submerged Groin which is very shallow. Was there a few days ago in my car plenty of room at visitors pontoon. Highly recommend the Harbour lights tea room very good food

Used to sail out of Littlehampton, proper little seaport which at one time was home to David Hillyard shipbuilders, haven’t been back for years I expect the mud berths on the West Bank are all built up.That’s where the Brixham trawler Vigilance was rebuilt backin the 1950/60s.
