Having invited ourselfs to visit the river of our rich neighbours would like to submit report on same.
Bray was curiously quiet on our arrival apart from a lot of people hiding behind bushes and in old portacabin by the road on the way into the marina.
Several requests to all and sundry as to if you could get a decent bacon roll from the caff on the site went unheeded.
However once we had located our victi....sorry host for the day we loaded up and set off with a parp parp going under the footbridge and proceeded west at about 20 knots or so as it appears that some sort of race is always underway between any two locks.
We were constantly waved at by friendly Thames boaters.
We went under some perfectly acceptable footbridge with loads of headroom before it absolutely whizzed down with rain.
Learned all about the Boulters "Death Grip" and saw grass snake swimming around in another lock before the lockie deftly oiked it out with boat hook and set it on it way.
So whats the problem here then ..Wimps

Coming back down a cracking sunny day out a few pre lunch beers a bottle or three of wine with lunch at the Kings Head and a bottle of Champagne to follow to finish.
The outright winner of the "How many fenders can you fit on one boat competition"

They look an up market set of hosts, that Laney bird is a bit of a hand full by all accounts!

Watch out for her right hook !

Managed a quick look at Steve and Janes new boat before they rushed off for some reason and then walked round to the olde peeps retirement pontoon next door to visit some old boy who does not get out much.
Just my sense of "nobless olbilge" suppose.

"no pictures of hanging about in Bray Lock then!"

Err well you see.Its like this see.I may look daft but in order to get invited back, it is probably wiser to remain..... for the sake of all concerned ..... V.quiet on the subject,as to if that particular "event" actually took place or not,I could not possibly comment being miles away at a totally different lock nowhere near that one at the time .Honest Guv:).
