We are going down to the Yacht in the South of France (sounds grand don't it?)
Our route is Portsmouth Le Harve..................?

We need to end up in Nimes or there about, but wanted to take it easy rather than charging down the toll roads, also very definitely wanted to miss out Paris.

I do not have any software that can help only an old AA map of France.

Question which way to go say over two days, we start in Le Harve around 14:00 on a Saturday. Need to stay somewhere cheap first & second nights

Hi

Just worth saying that the new A75 autoroute is almost finished.

It goes South from Clermond Ferrand over the Massif Central to Montpellier.
The bridge at Millau is open, Lodeve bypass is open, but the final part is still dual carriageway, with one village to cross.

Advantages are :

It is free (except for the Millau bridge)
It is beautiful
It is quiet midweek (holdups at the Montpellier end at weekend)

You can contact me at thelanguedocpage@gmail.com for more info

Live webcam of the new bridge :

Bonne chance

Poter hi,
Have you considered Ryan Air and hire a car? They fly to Nimes or near and I have found it lots and lots cheaper traveling France - UK by that method... and less hassle.
If you are taking 'goodies' for the boat then try Peters & May - still cheaper than car ferries and fuel etc etc

http://www.viamichelin.com/ will get you blow by blow road maps across France (or anywhere in europe)
