Please can anyone recommend a publication or website that covers visa and other entry requirements for sailors on round the world trips,
Thank you, Chrissie
I cant answer the question, but have been faced with having to get visas.... in my experience as you never know which countries you may visit (plans have always changed when I've been cruising) I have always obtained visas locally. As an example Venezualan visas were obtained in Grenada. But equally we were turned away from a US island (Saint Croix) as we had no visas! and sent to another port of entry to get them.
I'd do the same again, travel with none and then sort it out when you arrive, if you've got time on your hands its not a problem.
Its quite good. I have used it, and when double checking with the relevant country it has turned out to be correct every time. It would be sensible to use this as a guide, and not as definitive though.
Regarding Tigawave's post - I am sure Tigawave has a preffered passport such as an European, or possibly US passport. Try doing that with a South African passport and I am sure you will quickly decide it is well worth the effort to sort out visa's before you go!!
