Hi All,
I have an ancient Vire 7HP inboard. Manual says HD oil SAE 90 below 10 degrees C, or HD oil SAE 140 above 10 degrees.

Can anyone recommend anything suitable please? SAE140 seems a bit exotic in the modern age....

Thanks VicS... particularly as Opie Oils are about 6 miles away from me! Any advice on what the 'AG' of the Morris product is or should be I worried that the Castrol is "D" rather than "HD". The Castrol product looks much cheaper than the others so if all else is equal I'll go for that!

As far as I can tell (if the gearbox components are original) they might contain phosphor bronze, so your recommendations appear to be bang on the money - I'm learning quickly!

Thanks,

Trev

Thanks very much, I got some castrol D140 from Opie today in person and it is now in the gearbox (and running!). Best wishes, Trev
