Hi Folks,

I have a small wear/crack in my helm seat that I’d like to repair. Various upholstery companies I’ve spoken to are only interested in recovering the whole seat. Has anyone any recommendations how to repair this damage.

Have you got a photo for perspective?

I had a wear crack and just warmed it to stretch and then sewed the seam , the crack was close to the edge.
It has lasted 10 years since and still going strong. Invisible repair.

On the last boat I injected hot glue gun into the crack so it glued it from inside and then pressed the crack. Almost invisible.

Can the part of the seat with the damaged area be removed? If so I can probably recover it for you for a few beer vouchers.

That’s very kind of you but unfortunately not, the whole seat will have to come out.
