Further to Woody001's post does anyone know of a company that can take a digital jpeg image and turn it into a vinyl graphic with boat name surround approx two feet in diameter.
I know it can be done as i have been waiting for over a month for a company which does similar all-over graphics for cars to come through with the goods but obviously my business is small fodder to them.

Cheers,
Paul.

There is a bloke at the boat jumble who told me he could. He turns up to the northern ones, I don't know about others.

He did my port name while I waited but that was standard fonts. But while chatting about the same thing he confirmed what you ask.

I will ask SWMBO about the details as she is very well behaved about filing all our boat bills, but I don't know where she has hidden the file case! ;(

There is a company called Graphic Innovations I have used, very good.they have a website , gased at Amersham I think.

Once used a company (well, Husaband and Wife team) called M+M signs based near Woodbridge, Suffolk.

Can't recomend them enough, took a design we created, adapted it well, and turned it into a startingly good vinyly for the topsides.

It went on an uneven wooden hull, and stayed put for 16,000 miles, and a yr and a half of tropical sun, now have to try to get hold of them for advice on how to get the vinyl off.

Would deffo try to get hold of them, if I find their detaisl, I'll PM you.

And, no I'm not on a commission!

Look out

Sounds to me like she's collecting evidence, probabaly of insanity, with a view to getting you sectioned and taking control of your assets.

Re: Look out

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I had never thought about that.

You have got me worried now /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hey Sheff,

I have used several local graphics companies over the years for exactly this type of stuff. They normally specialise in commercial vehicle graphics (white vans and all that!). They can usually print from any computer image file and can supply the graphics in 5 year or 10 year vynil ready for you to put onto your boat.
It takes some patience to apply the graphics properly, but once they are on, they stick like the proverbial.

Look in your yellow pages under 'signs' and you should find something suitable.

Good luck

Thanks all for the responses you've given me some alternative leads to follow.
Possibly should have made it clearer that the jpeg image is part of a photograph which I want reproducing as a vinyl graphic which I believe is not as straighforward as a basic logo graphic in 3 or 4 colours.

Cheers,
Paul.
