Hi all,

I filmed this a couple of weeks ago I thought some of you may enjoy.
No, I don't have Patreon or any other "gimme" account - just purely posting for those of you who may appreciate a different view of a boat under sail.

Sorry about that RIchard, it was my first go getting the GoPro up there, and I could not quite get it to the tip of the top...a couple feet short as it got jammed in some of my rigging up there.
Being a GoPro with inbuilt wide view, the spherical may have been accentuated due to the natural lens distortion.
Cheers.

awesome! How did you do that? It looked like the go pro was mounted on a pole / boathook. Did it have a down haul to keep it steady once it was up there?

G'day Matt. Yes I put the GoPro (one of those teeny weeny GoPro 'Session 4', without the housing that comes with the bigger GoPro's) onto a selfie stick, then I duct taped the selfie stick to a pole and hoisted. I kept it (relatively) steady by just pulling it dowbn tight myself always keeping a hand gripped on the bottom of the halyard line, but next time I might tie it off somewhere if I try to film for longer.
Cheers, glad you liked it!
