VIDEO: Southampton Boat Show 2015 - Motor Boat & Yachting

Thanks for that. having spent 5-6 hours there yesterday, we managed about ten minutes on boats, so I saw alot more here than I did being there !

Nice review.

The Fairline does not look to have much a high free board is that really the case or are you 8 feet tall?

Last standing jewel of the British shows I add, and like the comment Ferretti like patio doors on the Sealine.

I'm 6ft, so make of that what you will as regards the freeboard of the 53. They purposefully lowered it for the 53 having gotten so much flack for how unbelievably tall the 50 is.

+1, thanks JH for posting it.
I'd have loved to see the Fleming, that looks beautifully specced, for what can be seen in the video.

No problem. Yep, we could shoot a 7min video on that boat alone and barely scratch the surface. We have plans to do a decent passage on the 78 soonish so watch this space.

Thank you for the video, Jack and the team. I would have loved to visit the show but couldn't so this was a welcome taster of what was on.

Thanks Jack. I too liked the flem78. With a new build to your own spec you could make quite a nice machine out of that design. Regarding some earlier comments about small saloon/big aft cockpit, that is actually just what you want for warm-waters cruising in my book. I want those patio doors as far forward as possible!

I thought the Nordhavn 64 interior was incredibly dull. Perhaps it was an American style traditional fit out, and perhaps you could do better with a new build

Goes without saying...To pick up on another thread, whilst MM is bashing through the F7 in an Itama 70 with the crockery getting ground into the carpet and the passengers frantically crossing their legs cos they're scared of the bogs and you're busy serving coffee and cakes to make up for getting there an hour later, the Nordhavn guys have just finished Babette's Feast in the extra day it takes to get wherever you're all going to. And having drunk deep of the finest wines known to mankind, they don't give a sh!t about the décor.

Or, to put it in less prosaic terms: Whilst MM is weaving a circle round you all thrice, his passengers have closed their eyes with holy dread. And although your crew might on honey-dew have fed, the Nordhavn types have also drunk the milk of paradise.
:D

Haha, fairenuff, but while I can't disagree with all you are saying, jfm actually has a point.
Just as an example, the beautiful all wooden floor on the Fleming is in sharp contrast with the dull carpet all over the place in the Nordhavn.
And as I said elsewhere, a single anchor is a poor setup for a boat like that imho, no matter how heavy it is.
Nothing that a jfm-like buyer couldn't fix while speccing a new boat of course, but just saying.... :)

Is there an easy way to watch this fullscreen? I can't see the usual controls on your embedded video that allow this.
I suspect that this has something to see with youtube policies, rather than YBW willingness to give that option. But I'm not 100% positive on that.
Meanwhile, if you just click on the title of the embedded video, you can directly open a new browser tab on the youtube webpage where you have full controls.
