VHF Range - Chichester harbour
When in the South West corner of the harbour, I can receive transmissions from Solent Coastguard. However, I cannot seem to obtain a response to a radio check, on channel 16 or 67, even when transmitting at high power. Radio is a brand new Standard Horizon 2200 unit, and I'm using a mast-top aerial on a Moody 31. AIS is working fine.
Does anyone know - should I be able to reach SCG from there ?
