Hi
Someone else posted this question about a year ago without response, Im just hoping that someone has the answer.
What are the pin connections for an external speaker on what appears to be a 7 pin DIN plug on the back panel of a Demek Sealine VHF.
Thanks for the help

John,

I have a copy of the circuit which gives connections (they're not in user manual). If I can find a copy in the house, I'll get back today; if not definately a copy on the boat).. or I can look at my own external speaker connection. However, will be out for a long-weekend, so won't be able to get back to you till early next week.

Hi John,

The connections you need are pins 6 and 7. These are the two pins either side of the 'gap'. Pin 7 is Ground, but that is irelevant if the external speaker is isolated.

It is not simple to isolate the internal speaker externally. If you need this, easier to open the case and snip a speaker wire, or it will blow itself if you turn up the volume enough!.

Other connections on the socket are pin 3 (microphone input). Others are for SELCALL (defunct) ... a tone based system for automated ship-shore telephone connections (similar to DSC, which should be defuct!!).
