But 78% of French people drive French cars.... And they are no cheaper than imports .... How many British people drive British cars?... Ooops!
 
Radio 4 did a very good program about the history and the way words are chosen by international agreement . If I remember correctly the RAF and the USF Airforce had conflicts during WW11 and it was during this period that the Able,Charlie phonetics had to be harmanised for procedual purposes, today certain countries in the far East are proposing changes to several words as many languages do not support the vowels used in the present system. Could go on but it gets a bit boring.
