VHF License won\'t download

Having got myself a username/password and logged onto the ofcom website, I can view the details for my license but whenever I try to down load the PDF document (what I'm presuming is the disc for putting on the boat?) the pop-up gets blocked. I've now tried on three seperate computers, over a period of five days and turned off the pop-up blocking facilities; but still it gets blocked. Is it just me or is there a specific problem with the ofcom site?

If you have Norton - right click and allow pop ups temporarily - I have to do this on some sites.

Not only Norton .... this is normal for IE 7 as well ......

Of course you can either .... hold down CTRL key while clicking to donwload or Right click and Save To ....

If all else fails - Ofcom did e-mail to me the document and also note there is NO disc to display anymore ...

Its an a4 sheet with the license details and another 10 sheets of rules and regs to go with it. You need adobe acrobat or a pdf viewer to get the licence.

I have laminated mine up for keeping on the boat.

Right , so.When do we apply for one of these things. Do I wait till it's run out, or get one now. Whats the web site. Ta.

If you have a current license they send you the free replacement automatically.

Once you have sorted it all out, print it doubled sided and cut some A4 paper in half and print it A5.

No problems with IE6 & without Norton or any pop up blockers.

[/ QUOTE ] That's because you were sent one of the oldstyle licences during the period October/ November 06 while they got the new system up and running! I thought they were intending to replace them once the new system was working rather than waiting until they expired, obviously not.

Thats what I thought until the new disc pitched up

still easier to carry than an A4 book

Mine wouldn't download till I installed acrobat reader 8. There is a link to it on the licence page. If you only have acrobat 7 you just get a blank page.

I had exactly the same difficulty last week. If you are still having a problem try:

Tools - Internet Options - Security - (make sure Internet zone is highlighted) - Custom Level (button) - (scroll down to Downloads section) - click on Enable radio button in "Automatic prompting for file downloads".

That did the trick for me.

Remember to set the value back again after you have completed the download.
