VHF issues getting 37

I thought I was going nuts, last Thursday when doing the twilight series, we tried to find the race officers on channel 37, only to find, L1, L2 AND L3 - SWEDISH FISHING CHANNELS! - Is there any way to change this? - the boat was originally bought in Sweden.

the UK versions have M1 & M2. M1 is the same as Channel 37!

any help would be good

You may have inadvertantly changed the channel set in a menu somewhere. There is usually a key sequence to change from US to international channels, try finding this in the manual.

I tried calling up 37 last week on my old VHf (not DSC) and I could not find it. It has an 'm' button. I thought this was Channel 80. Is it CH 37?

Not certain, but I've an idea that M1 & M2 are unique to the UK and aren't part of the international channel set, likewise L1, L2 & L3 etc are scandinavian. If so, you may not be able to get them on your set.
Just checked my Icom manual. M1=37A, M2=P4, listed as UK marina channels, both simplex. Ch80 is listed separately and is a duplex channel.
