Anybody know the commerial part number of one of these - the vetus price is eye watering. Will be checking plugs, relay and removing one tomorrow but thought I would ask in anticipation of needing a new one.

Sorry no but these are better priced http://www.abcstore.co.uk/Vetus-Diesel-Engine-Spares/Vetus-M3.10/c-1-137-145/ It took me half a day to search out the plug number for my M2 D5 if you know the base engine mine is Mitsubishi you have more chance.

According to one source on the web, the M3.10 is based on the Mitsubishi K3D. This should give you a reference to search for the glowplugs on a normal commercial site.

I have a manual from the Motoren website which gives the plugs as Y110 (normal- circular nut) and Y114T (quick-heat - hex nut). These can be found on-line by Googling, e.g. -

yes it is definately a K3D. (the highest power version, has different pistons to the lower output model) I sourced a replacement engine from an agricultral supplier when we had ring failure, along with a valve head problem on the main generator.
