Hi peeps,
I have the above fitted to my boat and it has developed a small oil leak on the oil seal on the inside of the boat.
These units come in two halves, the motor assembly which appears to be bolted via a flange, to the prop/tube get up. My question is, can these be split, whilst the boat is in the water (ie and not spring a water leak!) or does the boat have to come out to do the job?
I'm on a swing mooring so no chance of a quick rescue if it all goes wrong!

I defer................

Cheers,

Crispin

You can remove the motor from the flange but the flange holds the gearbox in the tunnel. You my be able to change the seal through the hole in the flange but will need very small hands. realistically you are going to have to remove the gearbox from the outside to change the seals.
