Hello, managed for once to do some pre disaster maintenance and grappled with the bow thruster prop for long enough to pull it off. The anode behind had wasted away to an inch of its life and replacement ordered. Just wondering, when I put prop back on, should I use a lock thread for the nut?

I have no ideas on bow thrusters nor their props but if there is even a remote outside chance it could fall - then it will. Use blue Loctite, if you use red you will probably need heat to release it - and that might not be very convenient (the heat I mean). I am assuming there will be vibration, its a yacht, it will release if it gets a chance even if you think it technically impossible.

Sometimes, but not always, the maintenance manual offers advice.

My BT is the same size as yours and the prop has a nylon washer followed by a nyloc. Its still on the original anode with little sign of wastage. When I do take the prop off I clean everything well in the hope that it it will pull off rather than having to be gently tapped with block of wood and hammer.
