Vetus 38mm anti syphon replacement valve

I noticed a leak from the sea water cooling discharge area on my boat yesterday. I assumed it was just one of the hoses needed tightening but the area is inaccessible to my old bones. My mechanic came today and said the leak is from the anti syphon. Apparently there's a tiny joker valve thingy inside which is not doing its job. He says the valve is not available separately and I need to buy the whole unit (see pic) - €160 here in Türkiye.
Does anyone know of a source for the valves?

I don't want to teach your mechanic to suck eggs.... but often the valves become encrusted with salt and a good rinse with fresh water resolves the matter.... did they?

Force 4 sell a complete unit, albeit only for up to 32mm, for £26.95 and the valve looks to be identical to yours. I googled vetus anti syphon valve and quite a few suppliers came up. It looks like spare parts for the valves are available too.

Force 4 sell a complete unit, albeit only for up to 32mm, for £26.95 and the valve looks to be identical to yours. I googled vetus anti syphon valve and quite a few suppliers came up. It looks like spare parts for the valves are available too.

I realise that but the actual breather valve looks to be the same part as yours so you could by the complete unit and swap the valves or by the valve spare parts kit but it's the similar price to the complete unit.

This valve is interchangeable with the Vetus AIRVENT series due to identical fixing hole centers, making it a straightforward replacement option.


If you need only the replacement valve component (not the full device), ensure you specify the ASD38V model, as replacement valves for other models (such as AIRVENTV) are available but may not be compatible with the 38mm ASD38V housing

Thanks again. I understand now. I'll order a set and check because I'm sure I'll need them again. I've actually ordered the complete unit from a chandlery in Cork as my wife's niece is coming out this weekend. The supplier I found in Türkiye has no stock.
