On a wooden 67' power boat there is a never seen old blakes toilet. The pump is huge, much bigger than victory pump, and the inlet water is driven by a foot pedal using the main disharge pump movement. i think is original in the yacht, so must be built around 1967.
Has anybody an idea of what model it is, and if there is somebody that found a way to have spare gaskets? Obviously the plain gasket are easy to make, but there is some three dimensional gasket that give us problems to have it made. Anyway the machine was working properly, and is much better than the newer models.
It has a vertical handle three feet long!

Yes, I have one of those, Blakes victor it's called. Blakes dont have any spares for them, you'll have to make everything for them, fortunately, all the rubber, gaskets, can be made and you can easily rebuild them getting all the parts re-chromed etc. I havent been able to find parts anywhere for these toilets.
What type of motor boat are we talking about?
The large pump diaphram is leather so no worries there either.
Where are you, I'm in Barcelona if I can be of any help.

Thank you for your answer.
The boat is a 20 meter wooden motor yacht built in 1967 by Viudes in Barcelona, "Geno 2°"
The yacht is making a general refitting in Viareggio, Italy.
We will put that Blakes machine in sparkling condition, it is an impressive mechanism and perfectly working, but it need service, rechrome, ecc.
The only real problem is that we have a bad crak in the bowl base, and we are considering to apply a Victory bowl, with an adaption plate.
Unless somebody has one of these old original bowls in a storage....

From years spent as a child standing reading the inscription in the bowl of our Blakes toilet, I can still remember the address:

Blake & Son,
"Baby",
88 South Street,
Gosport.

I wonder whether they are still there?

Last time I got my bits for the "Victor" re-chromed, I paid 50 quid, but I went to a non marine type chromers! Look in yellow pages. There are a bunch more chromed bits in a "Victor" than a "Baby"
