We were there from Sunday afternoon until Wednesday morning - got 70mph out of the beast one way with an average or 69 point something. Saw the Bluebird replica go for a short trudge around and some of the other stuff hurtling up and down the pond :D

Saw K777 - what a fantastic craft, beautifully built, she had a run on Friday - when they got the engine going. a fair bit more sorting required as it seemed difficult to get on the plane with huge amounts of water going over the front - Still, a remarkable achievement and a fantastic sight & sound.
Quite surprised its had very little media coverage.

A brief word with the pilot revealed she was doing 70+ & still not on the plane !

I understand there was a bit of an incident with K777, got swamped?

Wouldn't surprise me at all - she got back to the launch ramp under her own power though.
We heard the pilot throttled back as he couldn't see a thing .... Just when she finally started to shift too. (That was Friday lunch time). Went off to the pub so don't know what if anything happened later.

Candidate for the ultimate toy in the cupboard ?

Coniston Speed Week have a video feed here http://www.cumbrialive.tv/

Hmm. The live feed keeps Buffering and I'm getting 6.5mb on a Broadband Speed Test at the moment. The archive files play fine.

Outstanding. There is a video of K777 moving slowly but throwing out tons of spray/smoke and a voice - mebbe it's Lakey himself - rings out loud and clear: "Let the clutch out". :D
