The other week I bought a secondhand RD68 DSC radio from somebody in Scotland, advertised on Boats and Outboards. I spoke to him on the phone and he assured me it was in excellent condition, but was unable to supply me with a photo cos' he didn't have a digi camera. Fair enough methinks (he sounded okay, and he was Scottish so he had to be a decent sort of person) So I send off a cheque for £240 incl. the postage (not too bad eh?) The one important factor was that it had the flush mounting kit (an extra £40)
So what do I get today?
a) The radio, with a scratch on the screen.
b) No holder for the microphone
c) Flush mount kit broken and useless
d) Bracket on the side of the VHF broken
e) Bracket on the other side missing.
So I phoned him up tonight to ask what he was going to do about it. Apparantly he had "never seen" ALL of the above faults and is not going to do anything cos' its not his problem anymore.
How can you trust anybody and how can somebody lie like this????
