My Verl 27 has new lower skeg bearings made from Delrin, but I'm not sure whether I can replace the cockpit floor bearing without dropping the rudder. Pictures enclosed. Anyone know if this is likely to be a ball race or another delrin sleeve? If its a ball race, where can they be sourced? There is a script on the cover plate, as shown.

Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions -anyone replaced one of these on a verl?

If you get it out & determine the size the main people for standard steering gear are Jefa.
They have a wide range of such items if you search the site. They are a Danish company.
I have just made bushes for a leisure 27. That had a single tube with a bush each end. This had to be removed & then re fitted as a cassette. Does the Verle have a similar arrangement, or are they definitely separate?

Most likely a Delrin bush, or could be Tufnol. Remove that cover plate and you will find out. Not difficult to find a machine shop to make a new one, depending on where you are located.

Looks to be that you take off the head by undoing that forward facing bolt, then undo the three screws and remove the flange. I would be surprised if it were a ball race, likely something like Delrin, available from directplasticsonline as stock and get your friendly machinist to turn up a fresh one.
