Hi everyone!

My sailing buddy and I own a magnificent classic British 1980 Verl 900 now re-christened ‘Verlesque’ after a 2000 hour 'rejuvenation' project over the past year.

This probably aged us five years and the money we spent far exceeded the hours, but won’t say too much in case our wives ever get to hear about it!

It was originally called ‘Woodbine’ and owned by a Mr Stephenson of Kings Lynn.
It appears to have been used in Spain and possibly Holland until it was imported back to the UK in 1992.

We know it then spent time at Foxes of Ipswich, Ramsgate marina, and Tichmarsh marina at Walton-on-the-Naze, at some time passing into the ownership of Mr Tomkins of Radlett, before eventually making its way south to Dartmouth.

We’re keen to confirm its history as far as possible, so if any of the above rings any bells, we’d appreciate hearing from you.

If anyone is interested in knowing about a Verl 900 generally, or the work we did on ours, sail on over to our website http://verl900.wordpress.com/ to find out.
Any comments and questions can also be made from there.
Note – this is not an advert and ‘Verlesque’ is not for sale at present.

We’ve included some details about the designer and maker, Verlvale Ltd who went bust in 1985.
There are also copies of an original Verl 900 Sales Brochure (passed to me by another forum member), an Options/Pricing Brochure and a Sailing Review.

And loads of pictures and a sailing slideshow too!

In case anyone is interested, I constructed the website using Wordpress.com after reading the article in PBO November 2012. It was easy and completely free to build and host!
It’s nothing elaborate but it’s the only website I’ve ever built and I’m happy with it.

Cheers.
