Veritas Transfer Scribe

I think this has been talked of before, but does anyone have hands on experience of this tool. Seems good for wooden boats but at £66 each I want to feel sure it will do the job. Perhaps there is a cheaper way.

Rutlands sell a few other, cheaper, scribes, but the Veritas scribes the bees knees.

Not used one as a block of wood does the trick or my hand if its close .
A cheaper way , yes a washer total cost 1p . you could go mad and buy differant sizes for 10p

Thanks for that. i did actually make up a tool using a 2 dollar spirit level and a split ice lolly stick. worked OK but not great.
