Hi all

I vaguely recall reading somewhere that Ventnor was undergoing a revamp - deep water moorings etc. but I can't find any info anywhere. Does anyone know if this has happened? if so (or not) any guidance on mooring there etc appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

It was done ages ago, but it's not deep water mooring, just a tiny harbour that dries, and now more for the fishing boats than general visitors. You can moor off on buoys.

Bit of a non-event - even more so now they have put the fish processing plant in the middle of it:

Not much water in the entrance and you need to be able to take the bottom if you are going to stay a tide:

There are a couple of visitors buoys outside of the harbour:

It was built more with the local fishermen in mind than attracting visitors.

Here it is last April at low tide, and you can see us along with a couple of other boats on the visitor moorings in the background:

Interesting port side channel markers in the entrance. They seem to be right in the middle of the deepest part! Better off without them.
