Does anyone on the editorial staff read this stuff?
Having assembled the components suggested in the article I now realise there is no wiring diagram.
Not being an electronics whizz I just need a sketch to guide me through hitching the various Chinese sourced components (sans instructions).
Only 4-5 wires but want to get them in the right places
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Edward

They probably dont. Would probably not understand it if they did and would have to remove wiring diagrams anyway on Health and Safety grounds.

Ask your supplier for the relevant data sheets

That seems unfair. They've published plenty of wiring diagrams before, not to mention things like home anodising with some fairly nasty chemicals.

I've just dug out the magazine and the item seems fair enough to me. It's just a suggestion to fit some fans on a simple timer, which anyone with a basic understanding of electricity ought to be able to achieve. How low level is it reasonable to go, especially in a magazine article with limited space?

Despite the inherent criticism in daring to suggest that from a "Practical" perspective the article was incomplete.
I found the answer at with the help of Maplin's staff:-

Interestingly the Chinese supplier went out of his way to help despite the language barrier, but stupidly they hadn't enclosed a wiring diagram. However Maplin went out of their way to suggest ideas even if they didn't stock the item. Strong recommendation.

Another time PBO articles should avoid leaving readers in a vacuum of ignorance. Just print a wiring diagram.
