I bought new pipes for the Jabsco marine toilet on my boat.

At the top of each loop is a single syphon breaker.

When the pump is operated I can hear water bubbling at the valve and I see a small amount of water dripping to the deck.

When the syphon pieces were bought there were no instructions included.

Do we tighten the valve or loosen it, is there a set way of adjusting them?

Any assistance will be gratefully received.

Thanks

They are normally a simple rubber lipped check valve that should allow air in, but not let water out. The valve lips should be downward into the pipe, so check the valve is the right way in, then check the lips are naturally sealing shut together, with no dirt or scale build up.

A small dab of vaseline might help the lips seal, but be careful it doesn't attack the rubber.
