VDO Fluxgate compass info?

Hi
Am looking for info (tech, use and installation) on the range of VDO fluxgate compass's circa 1990 !. Does anyone have any idea where I may be able to source such info , either on or off the web. Have contacted VDO and they only supply current info which is a little different!

We have a VDO logic compass, which is identified on the back of the instrument as N 01 510 401 - you may have to remove the compass to see this label, because it is only viewable from the side.
From the front it has 6 buttons down the right hand side CLR, ^, v, prog, mode, enter, and an LCD across the bottom.
If this is the correct item we have an operators manual for this unit (page 16 to 35 only) explaning how to use it.

many thanks for your reply, sadly don't think that you have the same unit as myself as my display has no buttons !....what I'm looking for is cabling connections between the two units, that said, I'd be grateful if just for the info value you could forward me a copy of your operating instructions please to;
