VAT

I am in the process of buying a boat which was sailed outside the country for 3 years when new and VAT was paid on it in the Azores before its return to UK. Does this sound legitimate.

Possibly, ask to see the proof of VAT paid status before completing. Ask for an appropriate price reduction if they can't produce it.
