Our beloved leader is off to Europe again in an attempt to persuade the other nations that it would be a good idea to encourage the use of energy efficient goods by cutting VAT on them. Obviously saily boats and their accoutrements come into this category so I look forward to cheaper fitting out, safe in the knowledge that I'm doing my bit for the planet.
The corollary, of course, is that Darling should not stop at a mere £1k tax hike on gas guzzling motor cars but should whap on something proportionate to gas guzzling vessels - he'll need it to make up the short-fall from the saily boats.
