Varnish

Does anyone know if you can tell what type a varnish is by how it strips-off under a heat gun. Am currently removing varnish from the floors and it comes off like strips of a very thin polythene bag.

B&Q varnish. Focus varnish is more like foil crisp bags.


Seriously it sounds like a polyurathane varnish, probably had wet behind it as well. Tun oil varnish tends to be more gooey.
