Some months ago I posted here asking for a recommendation for what's best to use to revarnish our cabin sole. SWMBO preferred a satin type finish. We wern't going to strip the old stuff, just a light rub down to remove surface scratches. Many posters suggested Epifanes Rubbed Effect Varnish. I've just finished the job (on the kitchen table, too bloody cold outside!) and the finish is excellent. V easy to apply (I used those disposable foam brushes, much better than bristles) and very forgiving. 3 coats have given the wood a soft sheen and it's slightly lighter than before. Our boat is 10 years old. The finish now is more "modern" , not shiny and lighter. Overall, I'm pleased. Hope it wears well too. Thanks to all posters who responded.
