varnish or oil or woodstain

I am restoring an old Fairey Marine Albacore and have stripped the hull and fitted new decks. I would like to either varnish or oil the hull and would like to choose the option that lasts the longest with the least upkeep. I am considering one of the hybrid oil/varnish products such as Sikkens Cetol Marine or perhaps one of the wood stains alternatives. Any advise welcomed.
