A couple of interesting points on French TV :

There was programme about the greatest ever British nautical disaster: the sinking of the Lancastria on June 17, 1940 off St Nazaire. Up to an estimated 6000 people drowned. British expeditionary troops were being evacuated.

Brussels has a swimming pool 110' deep.

The UK's also got a very deep 'swimming pool', but don't know the exact depth.

It's the RN's submarine escape training tower, the greenish coloured tower with the rectangular top in Gosport.

Am sure a submariner will be able to post the depth you have to swim from.
