This apparently very nice vessel grabbed my attention while browsing around, but I never heard anything about the builder and its production so far.
A quick google search showed that they have a sailing heritage, but I thought to post this here anyway, before eventually dare to venture into scuttlebut... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Any view appreciated.

I saw that coming.....

Ermm, I just told that it grabbed my attention, not that I'm thinking to fork over a million quid on the spot, ok?... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: I saw that coming.....

Something like that with a cat rig would be my choice of a perfect long range motorsailer.

Very nice.

Heard of them but don't know any detail. Lovely boat, tho 20yrs old so potentially big maintenance stuff and potentially old kit (nav, battery systems, high gen and engine hours, etc). But you knew all that!

Has surprisingly little deck/sun space for such a big boat. Looks very nice tho. I doubt the sails do much, 90% of the time, though there is no data on the sail plan on that link

Whatever you do, hurry! The Euro is surely heading a long way south this year (vs £ and $)

[/ QUOTE ]Surely? Blimey J, that's quite a statement.
If there's something these days that can predicted for sure, it's that nothing is predictable.
...unless you know something we're not aware of? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

What does than mean? Is the Euro going to gain more value against the £ or are we going to see the £ recover? It's critical to my future boat buying ideas /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry, i meant € will fall in value relative to £ this year.

Ok "surely" was too strong a word. I was being colloquial Mapis! Euro interest rates are down and have further to go, and we'll see more recession in Eurozone plus differeng rates of recession as between the separate Eurozone countries which will lead to tensions on being in the same currency, etc, all of which will reduce demand for € and lower its value. Ok UK has recession too but it is already priced into the £, moreso than Eurozone depression has been priced into the €.

Just imho, I dont want to turn this into a currency predicting thread. What I meant was, in the context of this thread which is Mapis's boat search, if I were Mapis with a stack of Euros looking to buy a £ boat I'd move sooner rather than later. Just my 0.02c tho :-)

The experts all seem to agree on that but it was the experts who got us into this mess so what do they know /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif But it would sure be welcome

Mmmm... 'dunno really.
As you surely know, even economists have always been much better at explaining why something happened, rather than predicting what will happen. And even more so these days.
According frinstance to these forecasts: EUR/USD and GBP/USD, in the next months the USD should weaken against both EUR and GBP, whilst EUR and GBP are more or less aligned.
Fwiw, my (possibly simplistic) view is that in 2009 the fan will spread around more or less the same brownish stuff to all of us, so the currency market will be more driven by speculation and short-term movements than by the economic fundamentals.

That said, I fully agree that we don't need yet another currency predicting thread - life's waaaay too short! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
...and at the end of the day, as long as I already have a decent boat, why bother?
If I had a choice between a bigger/better boat or more time to spend cruising with the current one, the latter would be a no-brainer choice.
