Valve Clearance - Volvo2002

Went to check the clearances today, being the first time I've got to do this and after wrestling the cover off checked the manual for the actual measurement. According to the manual , assembly para 14, the clearance should be 0.30mm (0.01181in) OK but in the tech data at the back the clearance should be a max of 0.15mm (0.00590in). Gulp, which is correct? I suspect the 0.30 but can anybody confirm this? Thanks in advance.

I think you'll find you've mis-read the manual! The valve clearance should be 0.30mm. I suspect the 0.15mm figure you've seen is the "Max. clearance between valve stem and valve guide" - in other words, it's a wear tolerance figure.
