does any one know where i can get a replacment part for the part that attaches the boom to the mast mine has broken it was 30 years old and i dont know where to start looking

Guess its the gooseneck thats broken have a look at www.zspars.com they should have one suitable. Theres loads of parts diagrams you can look at. If you can tell them the make of the Spars (I'm guessing it was something like Proctor) they should be able to help.

thanks for the info i checked out the site but my mast and boom are very old and everything on the site was modern
my system is as follows on the mast there is a track into this is a sliding bracket which is attached to the boom by a pivot pin which has a securing nut on the end of thr pin if any one can help or suggest a fix for this problem i would be very grateful

Locate a welder who does stainless steel fabrication, take the broken one and see if it can be repaired, or a new one made to the same pattern. If anywhere near Chichester, theres a very good SS fabricator at CYB.
