If you have the starter motor (valeo) model number then google that number or search ebay to find a seller. If you don't know the valeo number, which was rubbed off on my starter motor, I photographed it, and mailed the photo to valeo customer services, who identified it and mailed me back with all the numbers you would need. very helpful service from valeo - no connection, just a satisfied customer
Last summer!!
It was the UK agent I dealt with, but I think all automotive suppliers are having tough times now. Though Valeo as a big OEM should be ok
Thank you for all your helpful suggestions. Yes, I have googled & found someone to quote. However the Valeo ref D9R was not sufficient. The engine is a TMD41B vintage 1993. One of the sites I tried mentioned 9 tooth & suspect this refers to the pinion, but mine has more than that. There is also the number 91 on the casing.
